A world of work to discover
Who creates the sounds in a movie? How does a scientist investigate life in the ocean? What makes a photograph tell a story?
Behind each question is a person with skills, tools, and stories to share.
What does a Big Little Jobs experience look like?
We’re designing each experience to give children a glimpse into a profession and the chance to try it for themselves.
Meet a professional
Hear a story from their working life and discover the tools they use.
Try a new skill
Ask questions, experiment, and take on a hands-on challenge.
Create something to share
Complete a small project and leave with the satisfaction of saying, “I did that!”

Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Ioana.
I’m a Marin mom of two, an educator, and the person behind Big Little Jobs.
I’ve worked in education since 2014. My experience spans political education and community engagement, hands-on farm education at The HEAL Project in Half Moon Bay, and program management, where I’ve designed and taught educational programs. I’ve enjoyed both shaping a learning experience and being there with students as they explore it.
My own curiosity has taken me in unexpected directions, too. In 2021, an interest in regenerative agriculture led me to leave my job and spend time working and volunteering on farms.
That experience is part of what draws me to this idea: there is so much to discover when we get close to the work, meet the people doing it, and have a chance to participate.
With Big Little Jobs, I want to give children more of those opportunities. A conversation, an unfamiliar tool, or a small project could introduce them to something they want to keep exploring.
I’m starting here in Marin, building these experiences thoughtfully with people who care about their work and are excited to share it.
Share what you do. Spark a little curiosity.
Are you a local business owner, creative, or professional who loves what you do? Big Little Jobs is looking for collaborators to help children ages 6–12 explore different professions through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
You bring your knowledge and a glimpse into your world. I bring my education experience to help shape an engaging session for curious kids. We can explore the possibilities together.
